摩天大楼是人类经济、科技高度发达后的产物,即是城市仍至国家的荣耀,也是设计者和建造者的成绩。作为一种需要巨大的金融力量为基础,才能使之崛起的事物,摩天大楼常被民众和政客视为一项表现经济繁荣、社会进步的标志。而有些经济学家则持完全相反的看法,认为摩天大楼的出现,特别是摩天大楼的纪录被刷新,往往预示着经济将出现衰退的危机。
Skyscrapers are the product of humankind’s economy and highly developed science and technology. They are the glory of cities to the country and the achievements of designers and builders. As a kind of thing that needs huge financial power to make it rise, skyscrapers are often regarded by the public and politicians as a symbol of economic prosperity and social progress. Some economists, on the other hand, hold the view that the skyscrapers, especially the skyscrapers, have been refreshed, often indicating a crisis of economic decline.
