做为亚欧大陆伸入大西洋中的一片半岛——欧洲以它曲折绵长的海岸线,四季宜人的温带气候和人类从远古文化走向现代文明一路撒下的奇观创造了举世的人文伊甸园。同时,也因爆发推进人类社会发展进程的两次工业革命而创造了跨越两个世纪的经济发展奇迹。今天的欧洲,再一次以其创造性的结盟将它的近二分之一(目前3.7亿,欧盟东扩后将增加至5亿)居民引入了一个资本、货物和服务无边界自由流通的统一大市场,为这些居民创造了一个工作、学习和居住自由流动的生存环境和发展空间。
