“七一”前后,一些基层党组织又将在总结工作的基础上,开展民主评议党员工作。民主评议党员制度从1988年以后,已在全市基层党组织中普遍坚持下来。几年的实践证明,民主评议党员制度是贯彻从严治党方针,提高党员素质,加强党员教育、管理和监督的有效措施,也是扶持和发扬党内积极因素,克服消极因素,认真处置不合格党员,保持党员队伍纯洁性的有效办法。准备开展民主评议党员工作的党支部,要严格按照中央、市委关于开展民主评议党员工作的要求,严肃认真地搞好这项工作。搞好民主评议党员工作,防止走过场,要贯彻“讲学习、讲政治、讲正气”的精神,关键有两条:一是认真组织党员学习党章对党员的有关要求,坚持党员标准;二是认真开展批评与自我批评,妥善处置不合格党员。党员在参加民主评议的过程中,要从政治上、思想上、工作上、生活上按党员标准认真对照检查,进行总结回顾,发扬成绩,找出差距,制定改进措施,明确努力方向。现在,党内有些同志对自己要求标准不高,在思想和工作
