民间常说的“五福”是指福、禄、寿、喜、财。“五福”一词最早出现于《尚书·洪范》:“一日寿、二日富、三日康宁、四日攸好德、五日考终命。”长寿是命不夭折而且福寿绵长,富贵是钱财富足而且地位尊贵,康宁是身体健康而且心灵安宁,好德是生性仁善而且宽厚宁静,考终命指人能够善终,没有遭到横祸,身体没有病痛,心里没有挂碍和烦恼,安详而且自在地离开人间。人生境遇不胜枚举,五福临门才是十全十美的,其余的各种情况都是美中不足。至于后来演化为“福禄寿喜财”则更符合世
