In the first part of the 20th century, Wuxi in Jiangsu Province saw the birth of a blind musician named A Bin. At about the same time, in far-off Lhasa, there was also a blind musician named Ngajor Namgyi. He initiated a music school for the cultivation of talent and he himself wrote and composed many Duishie songs known to all in Tibet. Ngajor Namgyi’s songs are still popular but many do not know his name.
