The history of accidents in western countries shows that the frequency of dust explosion accidents has increased with the development of modern production. The first incident covered the explosion of the Italian mill in 1785. By the 20th century, such incidents were common even in countries that attached great importance to the protection of dust explosions. For example, there are an average of 160 accidents in West Germany each year, 25 in Britain and 22.5 in the United States (Britain and the United States have not killed or stopped production accidents). According to the U.S. data, annual economic losses (excluding grain flour) caused by the dust explosion amounted to 20 million U.S. dollars each year. However, the grain dust explosion hit 21 in 1977 alone, with a loss of over 500 million U.S. dollars
