Sri Lanka (Sri Lanka) in Sinhalese means “paradise” or “bright and affluent land”. Known as the most beautiful island by Marco Polo, it is the only South Asian nation that has been rated “high” by the Human Development Index of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). It is also one of the top 10 most visited destinations in the world for the official Lonely t Planet ticket, the world’s largest private travel guide publication.
