The photoinitiation step of photoinduced nucleophilic substitution of halogenated aromatics is not yet clear. We believe there are two modes of single electron transfer (ArX) ~ ~: mode 1, HOMO electrons of negative ions are excited to LUMO and then to LUMO of ArX.
