After several years of collaborative research, Japan’s Ministry of Post and the Office of Science and Technology have now prepared a feasibility study on the establishment of a stratospheric radio broadcasting system based on unmanned aerial vehicles that fly to about 20 km above the Earth. At present, Japan’s radio communications are mainly relayed by microwave relay stations or low-orbit communications satellites (orbits of orbit over 80-200 km above the Earth). However, the proposed new type of communications system, which is highly developed between microwave stations and communications satellites, transmits Distance than the microwave station, and the cost is lower than the communications satellite. The system will be developed within 10 years with a total investment of about 15 billion days
