Family education is the influence of parents on their children's future development through their own behaviors, which is of great significance to the formation of children's values of world and life, and has now become the focus of contemporary educators' research. Due to the great differences between eastern and western cultures, which cause great differences in family education, this paper takes the sitcoms Home with Kids and Modern Family as examples to explore the differences of family education view from an inter-cultural perspective. Through the analysis, it can be seen that the historical, traditional and values of different cultural systems in China and the United States all influence the formation of the family education. The purpose of this study is to analyze the respective advantages of Chinese and American family education, to promote the development of children in all aspects, and then to eliminate the misunderstanding caused by inter-cultural communication.
