世上总有一些事物,人们自认熟悉得不能再熟悉,但其实细琢磨又十分陌生,北京天坛是一个典型。天坛建筑,以其独特的外型,早已成为最具国际认知度的中国古建筑,是北京标志,乃至国家的重要象征。与此相仿的还有北京故宫,后者的建筑规模更大更复杂,留下的故事更多更丰富。但天坛却承担着故宫以及其它皇家建筑无法替代的、重要而神圣的使命——赐王朝以天命、赋君主以神性。
There are always things in the world, people are no longer familiar with the familiar familiar, but in fact very refined and very strange, the Beijing Temple of Heaven is a classic. Tiantan Architecture, with its unique appearance, has long been the most internationally recognized Chinese ancient building and is an important symbol of Beijing and even the country. Equally there is the Forbidden City in Beijing, which is larger and more complex in scale and leaves more and more stories. But the Temple of Heaven has undertaken an important and sacred mission that can not be replaced by the Forbidden City and other royal buildings - giving the dynasty the divine mandate by destiny and monarch.
