FRANCE: According to World News from Japan’s FAIRWOOD website, 9 October, a coalition of 1,000 Sheva loggers, represented by the French Timber Federation, feared the move before the National Assembly on the 7th to protest France’s export of large quantities of logs to China. Will undermine the development of the domestic timber industry, affecting the domestic job market. Nicolas Douzain, the general representative of Timber Federation, said that in the year of 2013 alone, France exported as much as 1 million m 3 of logs to China, equivalent to the capacity of 40,000 containers. If the development continues, the consequences will be worrisome. According to the information released by the Timber Federation, these logs were exported to China for processing into plates or furniture and then exported to France again. The rally protest is to hope that the French government to take relevant measures to limit such a large number of logs exported to China.
