哀牢山位于云南省中部,是横断山脉的分支之一,西北、东南走向。调查区域的徐家坝地区位于哀牢山北部山脊,最高峰海拔2740m,一般为2460m,地理位置是北纬24°32′,东经101°02′,地形为中山。木果石栎林是徐家坝地区分布面积最广,长势较好的一片原始森林。这里人类活动较少,植物种类繁多,基本上保持了原始状态,是研究森林生态学的理想地区。
Ailao Mountain is located in the central part of Yunnan Province, is one of the branches of the Hengduan Mountains, northwest and southeast. The Xujiaba area in the survey area is located in the northern ridge of Ailao Mountain. The highest peak is 2740m above sea level, with a typical height of 2460m and a geographic location of 24 ° 32’N and 101 ° 02E and a middle-mountain topography. Quercus forest is the most widely distributed Xujiaba area, growing a better virgin forest. Here less human activity, a wide range of plants, basically maintained the original state, is an ideal area for the study of forest ecology.
