Norplant implants consist of six silicone capsules containing levonorgestrel 18 norethindrone. Reducing the number of capsules facilitates placement and removal, increasing acceptability. 2-Norplant is a silicone rubber rod made of synthetic rubber made of levonorgestrel 18, each 44 mm in length and 24 mm in diameter, containing 70 mg of levonorgestrel 18. The 2-year-old plant is evaluated for 5-year effectiveness, acceptability and reversibility. From December 1985 to March 1986 a total of 100 women were admitted. Acceptance criteria are based on the principles developed by the International Council on Research on Population Contraception. Subjects between 18 to 40 years old, have fertility (at least one child had birth), implants
