美国学者博士内尔﹒诺丁斯在《幸福与教育》中写道:好的家庭和学校是幸福的地方。生活在这些地方中的成人会认识到教育(和生活自身)的一个目的就是幸福,他们也会认识到幸福既是教育的目的,又是教育的手段。在理解什么是“在幸福中成长”时,幸福的孩子们将会快乐地抓住他们的教育机会,将会增加其他人的幸福。由此看来,要实践一种幸福的教育,教师将是一个至关重要的角色。所以,从2006年开展幸福教育以来,广州市第八十九中学就把提升教师素质摆在重要位置。
American scholar Dr. Nell. Noddings wrote in “Happiness and Education”: Good families and schools are places of happiness. Adults living in these places will recognize that one purpose of education (and life itself) is happiness, and they also recognize that happiness is both an educational purpose and an instrument of education. When understanding what is “growing up in happiness,” happy children will happily grasp their educational opportunities and will increase the happiness of others. In view of this, to practice a happy education, teachers will be a crucial role. Therefore, starting from the happiness education in 2006, the 89th Guangzhou High School put emphasis on improving the quality of teachers.
