在露天采矿中,运输工具起着很大作用。每吨矿石的成本随着汽车载重量的提高不断降低。近年来,各国矿用汽车的载重量一再提高。苏联已投产和准备投产的有40、75、90、120和165吨的大吨位通用化自卸车和自卸式汽车列车。苏联在型谱中对自卸车的比功率要求是:Ne比=7.3～8.58马力/吨。
