In 1961 Kunzler et al. Made the Nb 3 Sn line, which still has a high current density at a magnetic field of 88 kilo-gauss. Since then, superconducting magnet technology has been rapidly developed. On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the discovery by Konzle et al., It is time to comment on the latest developments in superconducting magnets and their materials. This article focuses on the application of this technique to large fusion research magnet systems. As for its historical status and other issues, this article without comment.
