我们现在科学知识的基础,很多是在百十年前由许多科学家,像拉普拉斯、傅立叶等所奠定的。那时候,许多现代的概念和技术,如信息和控制的概念,快速计算的技术等都还没有诞生。所以我们有充实、修正和更新旧论点的任务。与此同理,我们现代的科技知识,在百十年后也将为后人所充实、修正和更新。即使是当代最流行的学说,也必将经受时间和实践的考验。所以我们要凭合理和丰富的想象,认辨出前进的方向。
Many of the foundations of our scientific knowledge are laid by many scientists such as Laplace and Fourier, a hundred years ago. At that time, many modern concepts and technologies, such as the concept of information and control, fast computing technology, etc., were not yet born.
