龙眼原产我国,也是我区的主要果树。龙眼采用实生繁殖,结果迟、容易变异。我场1963年用“大鸟元”品种龙眼种子播种,1965年春定植,1970年开始结果,1974年调查:能保持“大鸟元”品种果大、品质优性状的植株只占21％,其余的变成果小、品质中等的“广眼”品种,有的变成不堪食用的“纽扣子”品种。容县龙眼产区果农有“大鸟元播得广眼,广眼播得纽扣子”的总结,是正确的。近年来,我场在推广芽片贴接法的基础上,摸索总结出龙眼嫁接的新方法——枝腹接法。
