There are two main reasons for the deactivation of Ni-based catalysts in the CH4-CO2 reforming syngas reaction (MCR). One is that the carbonation of the promoter components produces stable carbonate species that poison the reactive sites and the other is cage-like (Including graphite state and amorphous state) carbon deposition covered the catalyst surface. There are mainly two forms of carbon deposition in the MCR reaction: one is in the form of whiskers, the other is in the form of a cage covered on the surface of the catalyst. The former has no obvious effect on the activity of the catalyst while the latter leads to the catalyst loss One of the main reasons for living.
