1929年10月22日夜,数千愤怒的人力车夫冲上北平街头,疯狂捣毁有轨电车,打伤电车工人,一时震惊了故都。(详见本刊2014年第4期《1929年北平人力车夫捣毁有轨电车事件》)虽然事件本身在次日就基本平息,但其后续影响却持久而深刻。它就是一座分水岭,令很多人物的命运和关系都发生了巨变。一电车被砸后,完全停工瘫痪。为了尽快恢复秩序,10月23日,北平市政府、警备司令部就饬令电车公司,“赶紧设法整理,恢复行车”。
On the night of October 22, 1929, thousands of angry rickshaw pullers rushed to the streets of Peiping, destroying the trams and wounding the tram workers, temporarily shocking the capital. (For details, please refer to our issue No. 4, 2014, “Peking Rickshaw pullers destroy the tram incident in 1929.”) Although the incident itself basically subsided the next day, its follow-up effect was long-lasting and profound. It is a watershed, changing the fate and relations of many people. After a tram was smashed, the complete shutdown was paralyzed. In order to restore order as soon as possible, October 23, Beiping City Government, Garrison Command to order the tram company, “quickly try to organize, restore driving ”.
