Professor Luis Alberto Vargas,president of the International Union of Anthropological and Ethnological Sciences (IUAES),commented after his visit to Kunming in Yunnan,China,that the physical spaces offered locally for the conference surpassed his expectations. He believes China’s organizing committee and Kunming preparatory committee have done outstanding preparatory work and that this year’s conference will be a successful event.
