据统计,我国荒漠化土地262.2万平方公里,占国土总面积的27.3%,而且由于森林覆盖率低,加之长期以来重采轻育,导致水土流失严重。植树造林是解决土地荒漠化的唯一出路,但在干旱、少雨地区成功造林是全世界的难题。因此寻求一种雨季吸水、旱季放水的物质为植物生长持续提供水分,成为科学家研究的热点,具有这种功能的保水剂也就应运而生。保水剂是一种高分子材料,可在农业、林业、水利、沙产业等领域发挥抗旱保苗、增产增收、改良土壤、防风固沙、水土保持等多种功能。
