Hunger is even more cruel than swords. What weapons are the most devastating and combatant in the history of war? The answer is not a sword, a machine gun, a tank, or an atomic bomb. This kind of weapon that affects more people’s lives and deaths is easily overlooked food. Or more precisely, the control over the food supply. Since ancient times, the power of food as a weapon has been recognized. Virgilius, a Roman military strategist of the 4th century AD, said: “Starving is more likely to destroy an army than a battle, and hunger is brutal than a sword. Any army that does not provide food and other necessities will go undefeated . ”
