The fractal theory is used to study the geometric fractal features of Enshi and Jianshi faults in western Hubei Province. The representative fractured rocks are selected to make the particle size-frequency analysis, which shows that they also have the fractal structure. The fractal dimension can be quantitatively reflected Enshi and Jianshi faults are the same as the shallow crustal structures in the upper crust. Their geometrical structures are relatively simple and their tectonic activities are weak. They tend to be in the stage of decline and maturity. The analysis of the fractal statistical results of the water system near the two faults shows that the significance of fractal fractal dimension coincides with the phenomenon of water system cutting-off and synchronic bending exhibited by the last activity. The fractal dimension value can be used as a quantitative index of fracture engineering activity evaluation.
