本刊第四卷第二期发表壬瑶先生的“晚清诗人黄遵宪”後,收到了任访秋先生寄来的一篇批评。现将这篇批评和王瑶先生的回答一起发表,作为对“晚清诗人黄遵宪”一文的补充。“晚清诗人黄遵宪:是有缺点的。它只强调了黄遵宪及其作品的进步的一面,而忽略了反动的一面,而且对於进步的一面的评价有过分的地方。任访秋先生的批评叙述了黄遵宪对於太平天国和义和团的态度,这种补充是必要的。整个地说来,黄遵宪是一个君主立宪主义者,是一个夹杂着封建主义思想的旧民主主义,和武训和李鸿章张之洞都有区别。王瑶
