朱自清(1898-1948年),原名自华,字佩弦,号秋实,祖籍浙江绍兴,生于江苏东海县,因祖父、父亲都定居扬州,他本人又毕业于江苏省第八中学(今扬州中学),后又在扬州做教师,故自称扬州人。朱自清故居在安乐巷27号,始建于清代,今仍完好,计三间两厢一对照,另客座两间,大门过道一间,天井一方,是扬州传统的三合院式民间住宅。1982年被定为市级文物保护单位。
