由于英汉两种语言在语言和文化上的不同特征,在语音、形态、语意和文化上存在不可译现象,因此在翻译过程中不可避免的会出现翻译损失现象。在翻译过程中,为了确保译文在最大程度上传达原文的效果,译者往往采取补偿手段。本文将以《围城》汉英译本为例,论述翻译补偿手段在语音、形态、语意和文化翻译方面的运用,从而说明译者是如何在目的语中最大限度地传达原语表达效果。
Due to the different linguistic and cultural characteristics of English and Chinese languages, there are some translatability phenomena in speech, form, semantics and culture. Therefore, translation loss will inevitably occur in the translation process. In the process of translation, translators often resort to compensation in order to ensure that the translation is most effective in delivering the original text. This paper will use the translation of the Chinese version of Fortress Besieged as an example to illustrate the application of translational compensation in pronunciation, form, semantic and cultural translation, so as to illustrate how the translator can convey the expression of primitives to the utmost in the target language.
