2016年3月10日,中国科学院上海光机所强场激光物理重点实验室宣布,利用超强超短激光成功产生了反物质——超快正电子源,这也是我国科学家首次利用激光成功产生反物质。什么是“反物质”?反物质的概念最早由英国物理学家狄拉克于1931年因狄拉克方程负能解问题而提出。简言之,反物质和物质是对称的,其所有的性质或是相同,或是相反。当反物质与物质相遇时,会发生物理学家称之为“湮灭”的现象,并释放出巨大的能量。尽管这种能量目前还很难进行人为控制,因而难以得到实际应用,但这一领域所展现出的潜力值得期待。
On March 10, 2016, the Laser Physics Laboratory of the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences announced that the successful production of an antimatter-ultrafast positron source by using ultra-short ultra-short laser was the first time that our scientists successfully produced the antimatter by laser . What is “antimatter”? The concept of antimatter was first proposed by British physicist Dirac in 1931 due to the negative energy solution of the Dirac equation. In short, antimatter and matter are symmetrical and all their properties are the same or vice versa. When antimatter and matter meet, what physicists call “annihilating” occurs and gives off huge amounts of energy. Although such energy is still difficult to control by hand at present, it is hard to be put into practical use, but the potential demonstrated in this area is worth the wait.
