兰克史学对中国古代史,尤其是对隋唐史的研究,具有十分重要的意义。按照唐代“四等官”的概念,门下省的判官是给事中,《唐六典》中记其官品为正五品。在唐代,给事中的权力是在不断变化的。本文首先利用兰克治史的原则将给事中的渊源出处作细节上的梳理,然后从其职掌的范围的变化入手,试图分析门下省的地位的变化,从而对于兰克史学在唐史研究的影响做出具体的总结。
