“劝导”是简·奥斯丁最后一部长篇小说的书名及主题词。本文细致梳理了其中涉及该母题的篇章段落,尝试通过深入的文本分析,揭示来自长辈亲友的劝导如何深刻影响了男女主人公漫长恋情跌宕的进程;而有关的质疑、思辨和讨论又怎样最终成为两人分辨是非、达成共识、再度携手的关键。在奥斯丁笔下,“劝导/说服”作为有目的交流乃是人际关系甚至人类生存的根本形式之一,她曾在多部作品中持续就此进行全方位的考察,通过对“劝导”的聚焦,让不可删除的人际关系得以“显影”并得到重视和思考。一些现代西方评论将孤独女主人公的反思态度解读为强调个人欲望、伸张浪漫情爱、拒斥家长权威等等,有简单片面之嫌。

This article carefully sorts out the passages involved in this motif and attempts to reveal how the persuasion of elders and relatives through profound text analysis has profoundly affected the process of the long romance of the hero and heroine.
