Wentang Town is located in southeastern Xinhua County, jurisdiction of the three districts of Wen Tong, Chetianjiang, Yan three, 50 administrative villages, a neighborhood committee, 483 villagers group, with a total area of 168 square kilometers. 44082 acres of arable land, 106812 acres of mountain forests, the total population of 60121 people. The territory is rich in natural resources. More than 10 kinds of minerals such as coal, gypsum, copper, iron and antimony have been identified. Among them, there are 112 million tons of coal reserves, 210 million tons of gypsum deposits and 110 million cubic meters of water reserves.
