2011年世界质量与改进大会暨美国质量学会(ASQ)第65届年会,于5月16日-18日在美国匹兹堡市大卫·李·劳伦斯会展中心举行。共有来自世界上47个国家,超过2500位代表参加会议。匹兹堡位于美国东海岸的宾夕法尼亚州,坐落在阿勒格尼河、莫农加希拉河与俄亥俄河的交汇处,是美国东海岸连接中西部的重要城市。匹兹堡曾经是世界著名的钢铁之都,但随着全球产业结构调整,匹兹堡钢铁业逐渐衰落。从第二次世界大战后,匹兹堡进行了大规模的城市改造,转型为以医疗、教育、休闲、人文艺术为主的城市。
The 2011 World Quality and Improvement Conference and the 65th Annual Meeting of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) were held on May 16-18 at the David Lee Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, United States. A total of 47 countries from around the world, more than 2,500 representatives attended the meeting. Pittsburgh is located in Pennsylvania on the east coast of the United States, on the Allegheny River, at the confluence of the Monongaheila and the Ohio Rivers, and an important city on the east coast of the United States connecting the Midwest. Pittsburgh was once the world famous steel capital, but with the global industrial restructuring, Pittsburgh’s steel industry gradually declined. After World War II, Pittsburgh conducted a large-scale urban transformation and transformed itself into a city dominated by medicine, education, leisure and arts and humanities.
