叶帅的诗,情深意挚。毛主席曾说。叶帅长于七律;但观最近所作,他的七绝也是寄兴悠长的。如四月间视察西安,即兴抒情的就是: 西安捉蒋翻危局, 内战吟成抗日诗。楼屋依然人半逝, 小窗风雪立多时。寥寥二十八字,把叙事,抒情熔于一炉,凝炼而形象,绝没有可有可无的字句。“西安提蒋翻危局”。只七字,但把当时蒋介石调动东北军、西北军全力“围剿”陕北中央革命根据地而置日寇步步进逼、国家危如累卵的形势于不顾的国内情况作了高度概括。
