党的十一届三中会以来,我国的成人高校为国家培养了大批急需人才,为填补人才断层发挥了重要作用。随着我国现代化建设对人才层次、素质的提高,成人高等学校必须进一步提高办学水平和教育质量,培养出更多为经济振兴和科技进步所需要的高质量的专门人才。完成这一任务,关键是要有一支既有较强教学能力,又有较高学术水平的教师队伍。造就高质量的教师队伍,除了靠培训提高不断更新知识外,还应结合专业和本行业生产的实际开展一些科学研究工作,使教师不断了解新的科技信息,提高学术水平。教师通过科研,可以走出校门,在生产实践中增长才干,反过来又进一步促进了课
