以1997年第一届宁波国际服装节作为起始点,宁波会展业已走过了10多年的历程。10多年来,宁波会展业从无到有,从小到大、从弱到强,会展与市场、会展与产业形成良性互动,创造了中国区域会展业发展中富有特色的“政府强势推动,市场灵活运作”“宁波模式”。因此,宁波市会展业出现了总量扩大、结构优化、多元发展的良好态势。2007年,宁波共举办会展活动206个。其中展会数目和展览总面积实现“双百”目标:举办展会103个,展览总面积达102万平方米。宁波市会展业对全市GDP的贡献已高迟116亿元。另外,中国国际家居博览会也成为浙江省首个通过UFI认证的展会。像宁波这样的中等城市,会展业能有这么快的发展速度,政府的作用至关重要。因此,政府在会展业中的角色定位问题一直是业界关注的一个热点。那么宁波市人民政府在发展会展业的过程中有着怎样的角色定位呢?
