王丙山,初中毕业的侗族农家子弟,在短短的5年时间里投入10多万元,搞了9项发明创造:“碾米机瓦筛保护罩”、“兴农牌谷草分离自动装袋脱粒机”、“科农牌软盘抛秧对孔推盘式播种器”、“陶瓷、塘瓷、顽渍擦洗粉”、“合页玻璃窗自动防风锁”、“多功能切石机”、“中草药保健枕”、“防水、防屑水果包装箱”以及“有机玻璃防盗电话盒”。王丙山因发明创造成绩显著,贡献突出,1999年先后被评为芷江侗族自治县“十大杰出青年”和怀化市“十大杰出青年”,2002年被推选为芷江侗族自治县第五届政协委员。
