The Gejiu tin deposit is formed because of the immersement of the Yanshanian granite into the Triassic Jiuzhai limestone and is therefore closely related to the granite.According to several years of geological exploration, it has been proved that there is not much tin around the granite base west of Gejiu City Most of the tin mines are related to the granite that lies below Gejiu under 300 meters below the Gejiu area. At the same time its sulfide ore and granite surface ups and downs, often in the granite depression and part of the gentle slope of the side of the ore body thickening more oxide veins are also collected around the granite strains. Therefore, to discover new mines, it is necessary to find out the ups and downs of the concealed granite under a large number of old limestones in order to expand the prospect in the old mines and to draw the mineralization prediction map.
