The construction of large-diameter highway tunnels has become a trend to solve the traffic congestion in the downtown area. The super large diameter shield tunnel construction technology put forward new requirements for the shield itself. Shanghai Bund passage project from Tiantong Road to Fuzhou section of the upper and lower floors for the three lanes of a circular tunnel, a total length of about 1098m, using 14.27m earth pressure balance shield construction.
