1999年5月26日。中国青岛香格里拉大酒店。在国家经贸委培训司主办的“世纪变革中的企业经营管理——世界500强企业系列讲座上,两位世界级企业管理大师,美国惠普公司总裁路·普拉特和中国海尔集团总裁张瑞敏相对而坐,坦言企业管理之“道”。60年前,惠普始建于美国一间仅可容纳一辆车的汽车房里。斗转星移,昔日的汽车房如今已成为全美著名的历史文物——美国硅谷诞生地。惠普以近500亿美元的年销售额跻身于世界500强,其管理方略之结晶《惠普之道》, 也早已成为国内外企业界广为传播的经营宝典。“天下难事,必作于易;天下大事,必作于细。”海尔总裁张瑞敏最爱读的书之一,就是老子的《道德经》。《道德经》阐发的易处入手,细处着眼的思想理念, 恐怕是张瑞敏构建“日事日毕,日清日高管理法”的哲学基础。短短15年时间,张瑞敏以其超凡的“整合力”,把一个名不见经传、濒临倒闭的小企业,领出街道,走向世界,使其成为中国最大的家电企业集团,海尔之道引起(包括惠普在内)世人强烈关注。国有企业改革一直是党和政府最感紧迫的任务之一,其成败将直接影响中国能否实现长治久安,也是我国国民经济能否在21世纪继续保持快速、健康、稳定增长的关键。正是在这种背景下,国家经贸委培训司推出本次讲座,旨在加强我国大企业领导人与世界500强高层次领导之间的交流,推广他们在企业发展、经营管理、市场竞争方面成功的经验。为将两位总裁所谈的企业管理之道、企业经营之道和企业家处事之道较详尽地介绍给读者和企业界朋友,我刊会同十余家主要传媒记者与会进行了采访,今整理刊出,以期帮助广大读者和企业界朋友寻求中西企业管理的个性差异,进而找出企业成功之“道”。
