人体正常生理作用的顺利进行与体液的平衡是有密切关系的。当一个人生病时,体液的平衡就会受到影响,特别是在大出血、心脏或肾脏功能失常、患急性肠炎、发高热和患者不能自行进用饮食的时候。对于这些患者,医师往往要求护理人员详细记录他们的液体摄入和排出量,以便作为制订治疗计划的参考。记录患者液体的出入量是一项普通而此较简单的事,但不少护理人员没有给它以应有的重视。在执行任务时,时常存在着粗枝大叶、草率从事的事实。在某一地区某些医院进行护理工作检查时,对于这项工作曾经发现以下一些情况:

When one is sick, the balance of body fluids is affected, especially when bleeding, heart or kidney malfunction, acute enteritis, high fever, and the patient’s inability to self-serve diets. It is a common and simpler matter to record the patient’s fluid intake, but many nursing staffs did not give it due attention.
