At the annual meeting of the American Institute of Mining Engineers held in New Orleans in February this year, the head of the US Department of Energy’s National Uranium Resource Assessment Program announced that some changes should be made so as to substantially increase the basic data on uranium resources in the United States by October 1980 . The new plan has three main points: 1. Finding ways to increase geological knowledge about uranium resources to prepare for the development of uranium resources under current and future market conditions; 2. Improving interpretation to turn geological evidence into the United States The basis for the correct assessment of uranium resources; 3. the scope of the expanded evaluation program is not limited to the more familiar low price sandstone-type uranium deposits, but also selective studies of less clear and expensive uranium resources in the United States
