蒋庙基性岩体在南京蒋庙、板仓一带方园20公里内零星出露,面积约0.94平方公里。岩体侵入岔路口倒转背斜南翼,中三叠统周冲村组至下中侏罗统象山群中,引起大片沉积岩蚀变,深部可能有较大的隐伏岩体。橄榄辉绿岩全岩样年龄值为142.6Ma.岩石类型主要为角闪橄榄辉长岩、闪长岩等。在蒋庙红山一带及王家小屋后均见闪长岩侵入辉长岩中,蒋庙铁矿与岩体密切相关。
