The exclusion of Germany intensified. The violent outreach, which was described by Prime Minister Kohl as Germany’s “shame”, had reached 2,000 in the first 11 months of 1992, killing 17 and injuring more than 800. Things were racing to the point where three Turks were burnt alive. People often say that this is caused by the influx of refugees and immigrants from Eastern Europe that exacerbate social problems such as employment and housing. Actually, this ugly phenomenon of ethnic discrimination and even racial discrimination is so innocent that social exploitation can not be eliminated. In Germany, the far-right nationalist and racist ideologies have not disappeared despite the more complete blow by the Nazi forces in the post-war period. Foreigners have long been discriminated against and excluded in Germany. The article published here, which introduces a reportage in Germany describing the tragic fate of foreign workers, gives the impression that the current wave of xenophobia has a long and rooted roots in social ideology.
