Ostoidites in Guangxi Devonian strata are very rich in fossils. According to paleontology, they can be roughly divided into two types, benthic and planktonic. Benthic types of ostracods mainly occur in nearshore and oxygen-rich “elephant-type” sediments, from the Lower Devonian to the Upper Devonian. In particular, the Middle Devonian is the most abundant and preserved better. The planktonic types of ostracods are mainly derived from the calm and stagnant “Nandan” Upper Devonian sediments, most of which are inner and outer molds. Based on the available data, this article briefly introduces the vertical distribution of these two types of ichnofossils in Guangxi Devonian
