本文摘自《报人、出版家陈翰伯》一书的《在白区新闻战线上》一文。标题是摘后加的。陈翰伯同志“青春办报,皓首出书”。他是新闻出版界前辈,生前曾任国家出版事业管理局代局长。1936年,他从燕京大学新闻系毕业后,供职的第一家报社就是张学良将军办的《西京民报》。西安事变是他到报社后第二个月发生的。1936年12月14日他开始担任《西京民报》总编辑,直至停刊。

After graduating from Yenching University’s Department of Journalism in 1936, his first newspaper service was the Xijingmin, run by General Zhang Xueliang. The Xi’an Incident happened the second month after he arrived at the newspaper. On December 14, 1936, he began to serve as editor in chief of the Xijing Min Pao until its suspension.
