故宫博物院 中国最大的古代文化艺术博物馆,中国文物收藏最丰富的博物馆。位于北京天安门广场北侧。1925年10月10日建立。故宫为中国明、清两代(1368-1911)皇宫,又称紫禁城,是中国历代宫殿建筑的继承和发展,是中国现今保存最完整、规模最宏伟的古代宫殿建筑群。故宫博物院的文物收藏主要来源于清代宫中收藏。1949年以后,对故宫的文物进行整理编号,计有“故”字号文物78万余件,加上新人藏的“新”字号文物21万余件,总数近百万件。所藏文物一类为清代
