链子崖位于宜昌上游西陵峡,地处长江南岸,下距三峡坝址约27公里。地质构造为黄陵背斜西翼,属单斜构造。地层总的走向为北东,倾向北西,与长江呈70～90度交角,陡岩内岩层的产状走向北35～42度东,倾向北西,倾角24～35度。岩层上部为灰岩,崖脚为砂页岩,中间夹有煤系地层。在层间错动、挤压以及高倾角的裂隙发育等情况下,形成悬岩陡壁,临江高达百多米,裂
Chain Cliff Yichang is located in the upper reaches of Xiling Gorge, located on the south bank of the Yangtze River, from the Three Gorges dam site about 27 km. Geological structure of the Huangling anticline west wing, is a monoclinic structure. The general trend of the strata is north-east and north-west, with a crossing angle of 70-90 degrees with the Yangtze River. The formation of the strata in the steep rock runs north 35-42 degrees eastward with a northwest dip and a dip angle of 24-35 degrees. The upper part of the rock is limestone, the cliff foot is sand shale, and there is a coal-bearing strata in the middle. Under the conditions of interlaminar dislocation, extrusion and development of fractures with high dip angle, a steep cliff is formed. As the Linjiang River reaches as high as over 100 meters,
