景天科景天属植物多为草本或亚灌木,全世界约有600种,分布于北温带和热带的高山上,我国约有140种,南北均产之,以西南高山为多。景天的茎、叶多为肉质,比较耐干旱、瘠薄,养护管理相对较简单。它的叶片滑润似玉,花朵灿若繁星,而且具有药用价值。现在景天已经深入到家庭了,被亲切地称作‘八宝’。北京植物园种苗中心自2001年开始,陆续从德国、比利时、荷兰引进了近40种景天,其形态变化丰富,主要有直立和匍匐两种类型;叶色有深绿、浅绿、灰绿、紫红、金黄等变化;叶形有大的卵形、披针形,也有小的圆柱形、线形等;花色有黄、白、粉、红等色系。这些景天品种在种苗中心圃地经过2～3年的栽培试验,在北京地区露地越冬不需覆盖。2002年12
