海南岛儋县排浦市东北部海滨,在潮间带海蚀坪及潮上带陡崖上,出露有高约四米的剖面,是1981年同济大学王国忠首次发观的我国更新世近代白云岩,据同位素年龄测定约32000~35000年,剖面根据岩性可分七层,陆源碎屑主要是石英、长石、岩屑含量很少。碎屑粒度从砾级—粉砂级均有,在各层中有主次不等的分布,填隙物为粉晶白云石(10—30μ),是该文的主要研究对象。
